About the guest speakers:

Lisa Kaichen’s long career has centered on vulnerable children. She was the Director of a shelter for a runaway youth, the CEO of a statewide advocacy organization, and set up the Michigan children’s trust fund, one of the first in the nation. She then became a consultant to nonprofits, a foundation executive, a university, professor, and a trainer of those who work with children. Lisa Kaichen has a Master's Degree in Social Work and has completed several hours of doctoral courses.

Erika Henderson is also a social worker. She has worked with caregivers of people with dementia through the Alzheimer’s Association, as the Director of social services at a nursing home, and currently co-leads foster parent training with her mother, Lisa. Erika is currently going through certification as an equine-assisted therapist for children and adults who have experienced trauma. Erika has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and her Master's Degree in Social Work. 

Lisa and Erika are uniquely qualified to lead this workshop on open communication through their own professional and personal experience.
