My Community Cares Kickoff Event
This is an invitation only event. Invitees will be notified by My Community Cares Project Staff. Participants will learn principles of implementation of the My Community Care Model replication project. Emphasis will be placed on coalition building, community needs assessments, identifying and accessing available resources. Participants will engage in active problem-solving and action planning during the training. A review of the principles of leadership will be provided. Participants will learn about the tenets of cultural competence and cultural humility and how to apply to their work in the My Community Cares initiatives.

Speaker:

Christina M. Holt, MA
Christina serves as Assistant Director of the Center for Community Health and Development at the University of Kansas. She directs the Community Tool Box and specializes in capacity building for community change and improvement and supporting evaluation of community-based efforts. Christina has served as a speaker and technical consultant for groups including the World Health Organization, World Bank, United Nations, Peace Corps, and the Institute of Medicine. As a volunteer, Christina has worked with a local coalition for more than a decade in various roles, including as Coalition Chair. Christina provides trainings to non-profits, coalitions, and those implementing collaborative community-based efforts. Her passion is helping people make a difference on socially important issues.
